I don't understand why Vietnam Airlines has weird schedule. My friends from France took a risk flying with this Airline. Their flight is from Paris-Hanoi-Ho Chi Min-Manila. From what you can see, there are 2 stop over in Vietnam. The problem is, French needs visa in Vietnam so i told them to contact the Vietnam Embassy in France and ask if they need a transit visa, the embassy replied with "No". I did the same here in Manila and i got same response. Coming here in Manila, their flight is smooth although they complained that the food were not good and one of them got a diarrhea. Going back to France was a big chaos coz when they arrived in Ho Chi Min, someone from Veitnam Airlines asked them to pay $140 each for the visa. Fortunately, my friends are not stupid. They argue with the guy and said they will just transit in Vietnam and won't enter their f**cking country why pay $140?? each??? So the guy went away and asked his Supervisor and came back after and said that the Airline will just take care of everything, all my friends has to do is fill up the forms the guy gave. Just to end the hassleness, they just filled up the form although they are suspecting what's the use of it. Then the guy directed them to the Visa Counter. The other guy from the counter asked them to pay $25 each this time and $5 for the photo since they don't have any.
There's also a french couple who said they paid the visa online but they were told that it's a scam and they need to pay again.
It seems that Vietnam wants to extort money from tourist. First of all, why the flights has to transit in 2 cities when it can have just 1 transit only? And why the embassy lied to those who asked questions? In short, just avoid this airline as much as possible. I know you can have many choices and also cheaper.
Also, while my friends were already boarded the plane, there's an announcement that they need to deplane coz of aircraft's technical problem. They were so tired but they don't have a choice. The flight got delayed for 2 and half hours than the original schedule.
Now it's up to you but if i were you, DON'T TAKE VIETNAM AIRLINES!
